P. T. C. stands for "PEN TI CEDE", which is an anagram of "CENTIPEDE", a 1980 Atari arcade classic where the game idea was taken from. As another side-note, "Centipede" was the first ever video game designed by a woman: Dona Bailey.
Furthermore, in level 4, there is also a reverence shown for pioneer video game designer JEFF MINTER, by deliberately using his "trademark" camel for the enemies' sprites.
