Established in Portsmouth, UK in 1990 by Adrian Cummings, Mutation Software developed for Amiga, PC & consoles, but were late bloomers in the publication stakes and began publishing Amiga games in 1996 following the demise of both Commodore and its immediate successor Escom. Although Amiga games were discontinued in 1998, Mutation continued to develop and publish for the PC & consoles until 2004.
Adrian now heads a mobile game development company called Mobile Amusements but, most recently, in January 2020 announced exciting plans to relaunch the Mutation Software label with the aim of publishing a range of autographed, limited edition remastered back-catalogue games on floppy disk in new boxes for Amiga collectors. Moreover, a new game - WIZ: QUEST FOR THE MAGIC LANTERN - is in the early stages of development and upon completion will be available for retail purchase in the form of a physical boxed version and digital download.
